tdi 300 fie tuning resource attached.
IMHO this article is the best one i have read on ve pump tweaks;

VE pump does not like -76 degree temps - Page 2 - Diesel Bombers

These guys really know their diesels !

Mind you they are tweaking 6 litre engines on dodge utes

You can smoke up the countryside better than 007's DB6 with just a simple rotation of the stock star wheel on a Tdi.

Turn it too far and EGT's go through the roof, well on the wrong side of safe, all with the stock pin.

If that isn't enough and you need to melt pistons in under 2 minutes, just wind the main fuel screw on the back of the pump !
