Just about everything other than the engine, gearbox and engine computer will fit. There will be some other minor bits and pieces but most bits are the same.

I have a 1998/99 Tdi Auto Disco 1, done 218,000 klicks stock standard apart from OEM brush bar and soon to be installed Snorkel. I have opportunity of purchasing a 1999 V8i Auto 150,000 klicks disco 1 at a very cheap price. It is fitted with ARB bullbar, Warn winch, steel rear bumper, UHF Radio, dual battery, some other bits and pieces I am interested in. Apart from obvious body panels and trim, what mechanical parts would fit mine? Will the bullbar fit? gearbox, transfer box, diffs, steering, hubs brakes etc etc.
Or if easier, what won't fit.
Thanks.

As said above most stuff is compatable except Motor and gearbox bits. With the bull bar be aware there are Airbag and Non Airbag bars. If yours has airbags make sure the parts car one is airbag compatable.
If you have the space it's a good way to stock up on spares. These cars are worth more in parts than whole. Sell off what you don't need and you will most likley make you money back and some.

seconded, Ive bought wrecks to get one item off of them where the cost of the part new/recondidioned is more than the cost I paid for the wreck. get the part out then even if you junk the rest to the scrappies you come out in front.
one vehicle I purchased cost me less than the deposit price on a Tcase for overhaul so I bought it sent the Tcase in as the one for one and kept the customers vehicle on the road untill the overhauled box came back. Then made $650 from the wreckers for all the bits that no-one else wanted to buy.
cost of a rusted out beach going v8 auto with a dying engine and a stuffed diff?
$150

Update
Purchased the beast today and I'm impressed. Lots more goodies than I thought. ARB bullbar, 2 sets of spotties, Warn winch (don't know which one yet) steel rear bumper with extra spare wheel and Jerry can carrier, LCD work lights, outback drawer set up, UHF radio. Hot water set up in engine (have to work out how to use it and see if it fits TDI) Dual battery set up and the list goes on.
I was very impressed with motor, 4L done only 145,000kms very smooth and considerably more powerful than my TDI the penalty of course is the fuel cost (sigh). Has some rust in alpine window but an easy fix I think, trip to crash repairs should sort that out.
Had intended to wreck but I think it's too good for that so will decide when I have stripped all the goodies and attached to mine.
Cheers
