They will have to be the right length for the rims you are using. (not sure about the hub fitting end.. others will have to answer that)
I have a pair of trailer hubs that i will be using LR studs in, the type i want to use are series 3 type as they have a domed head as opposed to the RRC/D1/Def type that are recessed, any one see any problems with this ?

I fitted mine to ALKO parralel bearing hubs, and I had to recess them to get the correct emerged thread length as on the car. This was more critical as I used mags.
If you have electric brakes on the trailer AFAIK you cannot have domed heads as the magnet rubs on the back face of the drum.
So if you satisfy the conditions, just measure the thickness of the hub, the emerged thread depth on a wheel of the car, the length of the stud and calculate whether you need to recess the studs to get enough thread.

No brakes on this 6x4 so i can tick that box, hub flange is about 8mm ( from memory but will measure ) and i will be using steel disco rims.
Hubs have the step in the face for positioning so i think i should be ok with the S3 studs.
