    disco series 2 TD5

Engine imobiliser is giving me grief, for the past 12 months the imobiliser has not activated or had cause to do so. Using the code fob to open and lock has been ok, turn the key in the ignition to second position OK, try to start now not OK.

To start to engine I now have to press the code fob a 3rd time to allow the engine to start whilst I am sat in the drivers seat, 'Q' is this normal? and why has it only just started to do it?

I have the key turn code but have not tried to use the key turn codes yet, will this reset the imobiliser back to the way it was? I dare not try because this thing is currently outsmarting me and I do not want to make things worse, nor do I want to perform this function every time I re-enter the vehicle. Any cures out there.

When was the battery last changed? , Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I will be changing the fob battery shortly, it may be sending out a corrupted signal as the energy in the battery drops of, I will keep you posted, it's only been 3 months since I re-newed the battery, it could have been sat on a shelf for too long.

hopefully, that's all it is. Don't touch the flat surface of the battery with your fingers, apparently it is not kosher, Bob
