Not unless something was really out of kilter.
What a bugger, i should have stuck to what i originally thought!!
If the composite one does let loose, will it likely happen in the first couple of hundred Km??
Cheers
Jimmy

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I found with the Elring Composite gaskets on the 3 occasions that they blew between cylinders 2 & 3 that the paper thin metal fire ring separating the composite material from the combustion flame has disintegrated and allowed combustion gasses to blow out the soft gasket material and work it's way across to the adjoining cylinder.
I figured that the MLS would conform to the head surface better and would NOT blow away like the flimsy composite gasket, as I proved by getting several more years with the warped head, till I could afford a new head, Regards Frank.
I used a Victor Rienze MLS gasket (Germany), where is this "all the technical information available" coming from. Well first is personal experience, if you read my previous posts I fitted the MLS gasket with a buggered, warped head that had just spat out 3 Elring composite gaskets within a few months of the original blowing.
So the "Facts" that a perfectly flat head and block is necessary for a MLS gasket is total bull****, my MLS gasket lasted years before I replaced the stuffed head with no problems whatsoever.
Land Rover now has upgraded to the MLS gasket and most suppliers of new heads insist that MLS gaskets be used with their heads or the head warranty is void, don't listen to these so called experts, go online and check the facts, we had people on this forum advocating using sealant with head gaskets, when the manufacturers of these gaskets say NO Sealant, look up some of the gasket manufacturers on U-Tube, because they make these gaskets they are the ones to listen to, not some would be mechanic who wouldn't know one end of a Land Rover from the other, regards Frank.
