    24 spline diff compatability

    hello learned people,

    I am hoping this is an easy one for someone, would the 24 spline diff locker (arb) out of my soon to be written off 1998 Discovery (thanks red P plater) fit into the 1999 P38 I am currently eying off for when the insurance pays out?

    I believe they are both 24 spline but I don't know if they are actually the same so any help would be very much appreciated.

    According to the ARB air locker application chart, the lockers are different.

    Model RD128 for front and rear of Range Rover 1993 to 1996, Discovery I 1993 to 1998, and Discovery II pre 2002.
    Model RD138 for front and rear of Range Rover 1994 to 2001, Discovery II and Defender from 2002 on.

    It also says (foot note 6) for 2002 Discovery and Defender, to check if the P38A diff was fitted, which can be identified by the large 205mm flange diameter.

    I had a feeling they would be different, land rover wouldn't make it easy would they, looks like there will be some saving in my future!
