Davo, did you try googling Wurth Australia or
    Wurth Australia | Würth Australia

    Phone: 1300 65 77 65
    Email: info@wurth.com.au

I know you're not allowed to advertise companies here, so trying to keep within the rules.
No association with them. Please delete the post entirely if in violation of a rule.

    just to clarify...

anyone can mention any brand if answering someones genuine request for help or assistance to do something.

the rules we have in place are to stop unsolicited adverts etc in areas other than the verandah areas where genuine vendors can freely spruik their wares.

the naming and shaming rules are a different kettle of fish.

    cheers

Thanks for that. Their site is very strange. No search function, and I didn't have much luck with their 1005-page catalogue either! I've always found these giant companies odd to deal with on a retail level. I sent them an email. The stuff I ordered from England was sent right away, so we'll see if Wurth can deliver before then!

I know it costs 30c, but I've found ringing them to be the go, especially if you have difficulty navigating the cattle dog.
Calling them will also locate their rep in your area.
If they have one in my part of Tassie, they'll have one in your area.

They're not a retail company, that's the point.
Old fashioned style. Take the order, send the stuff, then send a statement and ask for payment. I needed to open an account with them, no biggie.

I think of the Wurth bloke as the hardware equivalent of the "man with the van" Snap-On bloke.
Both expensive but often providing the solution.

    Cheers,
    Richard

Well now, this is a subject I love to have a good rant on. I chase that many parts that I don't have the time to call every lazy outfit who can't organise online shopping - and with the time difference I don't usually remember until it's too late anyway! And with all of the searching I've done for this sort of a product, I only heard of the Wurth stuff because you told me. Nothing came up while searching.

So here we have the two Oz businesses that I've tried so far that couldn't supply anything, while the UK company has already sent my order. But you've gotten me curious now, so I'll see how Wurth go.

Chops, thanks for the idea but this stuff is more like clay. Take a look at the interior panel joins on an old Range Rover and it looks like a desperate owner stuffed some goo in there to stop the rain leaking in, but really that's how they were assembled. Which is rather quaint, seen from this distance in time.

    Davo,
I'm not sure which product would be the one to use, but, if you want more info, I can ask at work. We're based in Clayton (Vic), which may make things easier for you. I hope I'm not over stepping any boundaries here, as I'm not a vendor, but I wont mention any names here.
We pack various silicones/adhesives, including a product for things like cool rooms etc, because joins have to remain pliable as they have remove panels due to shifting/renovating or expanding etc.
There are also products which have the capacity to become hard-ish, without total setting which can also be painted. Some of these products are a nightmare to pack as they are so thick, where as others are the exact opposite very messy for the girls who actually run the packing machines.
Anyway, if you want more info, I can scan a product sheet/brochure and PM it to you. Then you could make a quick call to get any further info from the tech guy Paul.

    Cheers Chops

If Incisor didn't mind, you could post it up here so everyone could see it. But a PM would be fine as well.
