300tdi bottom end rebuild
Am about to do a rebuild and swap cranks on a 300. It is the first time I have had a go at this end of an engine. Any words of wisdom? The new crank has been reground few 1000 km ago are the bearings stamped with the size on them? Also should I replace the oil pump and valve while I'm down there?

clean
The ground surfaces need to be perfect, get the crankshaft linished if your not sure.
Before you fit the crank shaft spend some time blowing / cleaning the oil gallery's out with compressed air and a soft wire.
Also don't forget to check the end float.
