    td5 front door window removal?

    Hi,
I have just repaired my passenger side door regulator (spot welds failed).
on refitting I found that one end of the channel that the window sits in is badly corroded, and the tab that you screw the top sliding rail into is hanging by rust alone.

Question. I need to remove the window glass and channel so I can repair the channel or replace it. How does the glass come out of the door frame?

I have searched through all the window posts and searched the net to no avail. and I cant find it in the rave manual.

Any tips ( must be possible.... how do they replace broken windows?)

    Regards,

Whilst looking for window removal solutions on the forum, I read someone refering to his Haynes manual, and whilst I do not have one for the TD5, I do have one for my old TDi300, and assuming they are of similar construction, I have to remove the mirrorto get at the bolts that hold the window frame on, other ones at the door lock end, and remove the frame with the window.
I am picking up a replacement channel tonight, so hopefully will be straight forward.

    Thanks,
    Giles
