    Tyre Rotation

Just got new Mickey Thompson tyres on the Disco.

The last lot lasted about 50K but felt almost square by the end.

They say you should rotate them every 5-7000k.

Is this the right method if using the spare.

I know you're supposed to rotate them, but. Original Michelin tyres never rotated lasted 110k front wore more than the rear. Second set were 1st gen Bridgestone dueler lasted 45k. 3rd set were Maxxis, lasted 65k didn't look like they wore at all but went egg shape. This set Dueler D694LT have lasted 20k and still look brand new. All of the above have not been rotated ever. Not sure if my car is strange or my style of driving is the cause. 1998 Disco manual. No suspension lift. Not sure if this helps.....

    74 RRC.......... All 31x10.5x15.

set of Kuhmo AT's did 120 thou with even wear, set of Bridgestone Duelers (605?) did about 60 thou with plenty of tread left but not in a way that let water out the side. Would have gone 100 thou and still be legal, scary in the wet though.

Fitted slotted rotors to the front and fronts started wearing twice as fast as rears............ much better brakes though.

Maxxis Bravo AT's on now, fantastic on the road in the wet, surprisingly good in mud too. Fronts still wearing faster.

    None have ever been rotated.
