Thread: Disco 2A Gearbox

G day brains trust,
A workmate has a Discovery 2, My03 with manual transmission.
The clutch appears to have failed so looking at removal. Heres the thing, can the transmission & transfer be removed as a single unit or do we have to remove the transfer first then the gearbox.
Appreciate your thoughts & experience with this.

Some more background, the Disco lost all clutch release & on further inspection the release fork basically doesn't, not sure if its the pivot point or the fingers in the plate.

I remove one these a week at least. (working for a dismantler specialising in land rover) and no you do not have to split the transfer. It will come out as a whole unit but the are quite heavy... have fun :P
