One stage does have more stroke than the other though. I used that stage for the fronts (8 pistons) and the shorter stroke for the rear (4 pistons).

Just an update on the brake situation.

We tried it withour the proportioning valve, with the rear master cylinder to the front brakes, and the front one to the rear brakes, via the cutting brake.

After a good bleed, there was hardy any rear brake pressure.

We then tried it with the proportionin valve in, like below, but no real improverment. Because the cutting brake is the highest point i hte system (besides the master) we gave it a real good bleed. The rear brakes work OK individually when operating the curring brake, but there is no foot brake pressure until pumped a few times, and rear brakes are still poo when operating the foot brake.

One of our FB fans gave us this diagram to try, but I think it relates to a different type of proportioning valve. I want to know if the 2 pipes on the underneath of the proportioning valve, (shown bridged in my first pic above) can be used for the 2 front brakes. I assumed that they were the fluid connection between the 2 chambers in the valve.

How does the proportioning valve in this photo work? Are the bridged pipes on the underneath side able to be used for individual front brakes, or is that a return between the chambers on the valve.

    Thanks Landy experts!

What callipers have you got fitted? And is this cutting brake like a cheap hydraulic Chinese crap park brake that all the drift ******* use? The prop valve should only stop excessive pressure to the rear brakes so with out it they should well. Try clamping all the hoses and see what pedal you get then release one at a time with the aid of a helper and that may point you in the right direction

    Thanks mate.

Cutting brake is a CNC item CNC, Inc. - Cutting Brakes
    so a quality unit.

I'll try clamping all the lines individually. Or bypassing the cutting brake.

Maybe the issue is the transfer of fluid pressure through the cutting brake somehow - the rear brakes work fine individually when the cylinders in the cutting brake are compressed, but no worky from the foot brake when the cutting brakes are open.
