    Warranty by none dealer

    G day brains trust,
Just wondering if anyone on AULRO knows if Ritters Auto can/will/or are approved to perform warranty work on Bess. The lads have done the last two services & I'am happy with there work.
I have not raised the issue of warranty with them, as up until now Bess has had none ( least none that I have bothered LRA about )
I noticed last night a very small oil smearing from below the inlet manifold & just behind the vacuum pump. Could be the pump but I'am not convinced at the moment. Any Whoo if the lads at Ritters can do my warranty repairs that would suit me rather then doing the whole LRA thing.
    Regards Chris.

I would doubt LRA would reimburse Ritters, as Ritters is not an official Land Rover dealer or workshop. They are not factory licensed. They are just mechanics that specialise in Land Rovers.

    Yup

Thanks guys, thats about what I thought but worth a try. I will try to get Bess into URL next week to see what they think. At a recent gathering they seemed to get a pretty good rap.

As a side issue - what is Bess? As there is nothing in your thread, you profile or signature we have no idea what sort or vehicle you are talking about (probably does not matter for this thread).

Initially I thought it might be the vehicle in your avatar but obviously it would not be under warranty - it is easy to assume that people know what your vehicle is but some of us do not.

Why not create a signature (subscribe) and list your vehicles there than we all know.

    Cheers

    Bess

    G day Garry,
Bess is a MY11 Defender 110 Wagon. Love her to bits so pretty keen to keep her in top running order. Booked in on Wed at ULR so hopefully the techs there will sort the minor oil weep out. Not sure whats involved with the "signature" thing but I will do some research.
Thanks for the responses people, I knew the brains trust would have the answers.
    Cheers Chris

P:S; Talking of cheers, picked up a very nice Port the other day, Cockburns special reserve. Very smooth & highly recommended.

Chris. Go to the top of a page and click on "User CP"

Then at the top left on the new page click "Edit Signature"

Then what you type here, will always appear at the bottom of each of your posts.

If you have a look at this post, every thing below the line is my signature and appears in every one of my posts.

And as has been stated, you will have to go to a stealer for any warranty work
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

    Warranty 1/2 done

G day folks, just a shortish follow up to the warranty repairs. The crew at URL Were very helpful. Diagnosed the oil leak to the vacuum pump & rebooked for next week when parts are in. Then went on to repair the secondary issue of handbrake adjustment causing a knock. All quickly done & always kept us informed by phone. I have to say that they impressed me with the attitude & knowledge. Thanks for your replies, I have subscribed to AULRO but still to do my signature thing.
    Regards Chris.
