Unleaded Fuel

Hi all 8) How are you all?????
Have started to use unleaded in the S2a Beast and have noticed she runs hot!!! Can someone tell me what my timing should be?? The valves hav'nt been replaced with hardened Valves or seats!! I am currently runnin Flashlube each tank? When I run the lead replacement she runs fine!! I chose to run the old girl on unleaded for a month or so to clean the girl out abit as the lead replacement seems to gunk the old girl up a bit So if some one can give me the timing I can set the old girl up!!
regards

Hi Crawfy,
Looks like Incisor dobbed me in, yes iIhave been running my 68 model x-army 2a 109 gs on unleaded for about 6 years now with the timing set at 6-7 degrees BTDC (Before Top Dead Centre) it is the early motor, before anti- polution controls,I.E. no breather tube from rockercover to breather tube, non sealed oil filler, THESE motors are timed at 3 Degrees AFTER TDC. Set timing with Vacc Advance disconnected, My vehicle usually runs at the normal mark on the temp guage, If you are running the standard carb Zenith or Solex make sure it is running to lean, as that will add to heating, If you are not running a thermostat it may be worth fitting one (82 degrees) as with an effecient water pump the water can pass through the Radiator too quick to cool and it leads to overheating on prolonged running, all this is assuming that you have a good clean radiator and correct pressure cap 10lb on flat top tanks, 11-13 on round top tanks.
