the GM Duramax Diesel I believe is a gulf war hummer unit, basically big-very big surface area.not the sort of item you have on a road car. I had people looking for these filters for landcruiser and patrol conversions working out ways to have room under the bonnet. even had GMC ambulance owners looking for better filter.the normal unit was a tiny panel filter.
the data shows filters made to suit that vehicle. recommended for it. what it doent show is the spec for recommendation for total retention of dirt. American products used to print this info on filters and I luv to interpret it on the john deer Z9.
the GM and K&N filter restriction graph data meet at 180 gms of dirt but before that point the K&N flow more. no data is given for how much of this 180 grams are passed.
what is given is at 1/2 the time period of the GM filter more dirt has passed but in the write up it claims that it was clogged 3 times quicker.
they obviously didn't read their data.
