If they'd have been about $700 I'd have jumped at it. But as Turners provide a warranty and are half the price what's the driver for me to choose Australian made.
Yeah, not to happy about some aspects that have arisen post t/o but what can you do. Seems gone are the days I could drop in, have a chat and scrounge for an odd pulley needed.

If the original price had of been 1200 we wouldent be having this conversation.
But it was 1050 has then been picked up by a distributor and had an extra 150 straght up wacked on it thats price gouging since ross could sell them for 1050 and be making good money and thats prob not sven trade price ether at 1050
It's not gouging.. It's called cost plus... Or commonly - business...
So you buy all your vegetables overseas do you?!
I'd happily support the manufacturer , the opportunistic middle man - not so much.
I don't see what the big deal is. Let's just be happy we have a good quality, locally made replacement for a know weak point on the TD5.
And yet you do it every day...
Groceries
Major household items
Clothing
Electronics
Electricity
Water
10% gross margin on a product is not exactly ripping people off..
If the Ross mob had planned better, and offered the unit at $1200- initially would we be having THIS discussion?
LR sell vehicles coming to end of MY at a reduced price, do you think they are gouging all the time? Most likely I guess. LRA is a middleman as well...
Someone has to wear the cost, and the distributor has to hold stock of some description (at least 1-2 units) which they had to pay for within 30 days...
Seems it really has become the "Pay as little as possible, whilst making as much as I can" mentality... Yet when an employer want to pay as little as possible for as much work as they can get - everyone here is up in arms![]()
