I don't think Ross will be selling too many at $1000 if these are good and they should be.
Company is owned by Dayco who market them worldwide.

Were'nt Land Rover starting a new parts division where they have started to make all of these hard to get original parts for all models? You should be able to buy them genuine again is my point.

looks like a cheap knock off.
Have you had a look at The Powerbond site?

They are very well known in drag and racing circles and well respected.
The balancers are made in Melbourne BTW.
Dayco is one of the biggest suppliers of belts and idlers etc to the automotive industry.
How does that equal cheap Knock off?
Maybe that equals at the price they should be.

I have seen the damage that happens when HB lets go. That powerbond unit looks like a copy of the oem unit and no doubut designed in melb and made in china or it would 3 times the price. Hope i am proven wrong but i wont skimp on something so important.

It was to be called the "Landrover Heritage Division" see link: Land Rover Heritage division | News | Digital Trends

but a recent search indicates a name change to
"Jaguar Land Rover Classic" see link Heritage Division To Be Called Jaguar Land Rover Classic

Hopefully these obscure parts no longer produced by Landrover, will become available again?

I have emailed Dayco to ask the question of whether they are made in Melbourne or China.
Lets wait their answer if there is one.

Well I had a call back from Dayco who confirmed that Disco-ute is Half right. If anyone wants to contact him his name is David Mcglurg 039 794 4467.

The balancers are designed in Wagga with a full analysis of the rubber bonding etc and produced in China in Dayco's JV. This indicates that they are not made by a jobber like say ARB diff locks.

They have been marketing them for 3 years and had 2 failures.

In the last three months they have sold 200 in Australia with no failures via Rovacraft and others.

Dayco are looking at local production in a minimum of 12 months due to the demand.
There is a manufacturer in Turkey apparently who has been supplying poor grade stuff.Britpart????
Previously Dayco were rebuilding OEM balancers and the volume they started seeing prompted them to start production.

So make your own conclusions using the facts. I personally have no problem with using them.

    Good work PhillipA!

I know that LR stopped making the HB and for a while they were being reconditioned...

Its good to know we have a localish supplier of them and a good price.
Lets hope they dont use Britpart rubber compounds
