Lets hope they dont use Britpart rubber compounds

Due to no stock I had to wait a while.
This arrived in the post today.

It sure looks a good bit of kit and I reckon it is worth the money.

    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

I had a Ross damper fitted back around Christmas time and done about 15thou Kms so far. Seems to be working well, no vibs or noises.

Serious question: are the HB's really that much of a problem? Not questioning the wisdom here, so I guess what I'm asking is, should this be a 'preventative maintenance' job? Mine is approaching 300K, so should it be a first order priority?

Well, if allowed to run too long when they are really rattle they can disintegrate and cause damage. I replaced mine at 270kms as I could feel movement in it and hear a slight rattle on shutdown. They do seem to be a service item at around those kms though.

I had previously wondered the same thing. After seeing mine with only 220,000 I would now answer yes. I will take a pic of it tomorrow and post it.

So there's some years on this thread now and my second balancer after about 7 or so years is rattling but only with the aircon running at idle so time to nip it in the bud.

Prices seem to be quite a bit different, Dayco balancer can be had for between $400-450 at various places around the country and Ross currently have them priced at $711 on their website here.

Has anyone had issues with either of these two and is it really worth throwing more money at the Ross one?

    Cheers

    Andrew.
