Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Your pump has a float inside it. Take ithe pump out of the tank and turn it upside down and see if it runs. Then fit it to the vehicle into the tank with enough fuel in it and cycle it on and off again letting it turn itself off (15 seconds or so). It takes quite a number of cycles doing this befor the engine has the fuel to run.
If the pump is not running outside the tank (upside down) maybe the float is jammed down and might need a little persuading to come loose. The stupid float is supposed to switch off the pump when you run too low on fuel to save the pump but usually just causes dramas by leaving you stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Brian.
Thats what I was trying to establish before moving.
I think I will move it as it doesnt appear to be Urgent enough that he has come back to look and reply
