Don't quote me on this but I think you can run 235/85 16inch on the standard rims

A question from the brother.
On the standard series rim that normally has the 750R16 tyres on, what larger sizes can be run on the series 3???

I Run 235/85 r16LT on my standard 2a 88 rims, Currently using Dunlop MT2s, they work an absolute treat in the mud, not too bad in the wet either
Lucy I have heard good reports about those tyres how much did they charge you for them????
adam
Would have to check tyre and rim association manual, but i think on a standard 6 inch rim you can go out to 235 but id suggest that is the absolute maximum legal width - id be more inclined to go no wider than a 7.50r16 especially in a 16x5.5 rim
Mick
Adam, MT2s were about $250 a pop, made a huge difference to ability of the vehicle, and can swap them between the 2 series vehicles I have. They are fitted on 16 x 5.5 rims with no problems. I run them at 17psi, also haven't had a problem, thinking about going lower (they are a LT rated tyre, and the Landys aren't that heavy or fast ) I spend most of my time off road in the s2a shorty they are on at the moment.
I wouldn't change the tyre size myself, but the brother was thinking about it. In the end, finance is doing him in. He was going to go for a set of the sime Konvoys like incisor, but not sure what he is doing at the moment. He isn't the best with money
