You wont get it registered with 35's so stick some stockies on it before you take it in.
hi guys, I am tempted to purchase a 97 disco from VIC. the disco is running 35s with a 5 inch lift. my question is, how do change the VIC registration to NSW. I think I need a blue slip, but im concerned about the 35s and lift making it not be able to get one, if this is the case does anyone know a mechanic who would give a blue slip even though the tyres and lift are there.
thanks

						LOL
Very Bad Idea, and very bad for anyone to share that kinda info publicly, oh and there's the fact that you may kill a bus load o' nuns, do it legally, engineer it, and have a safe car, I don't want to share the road with a behemoth that can't stop or go round corners.
You'd probably get the answers you're looking for on the 4WD action forum...

My advice would be, if it's engineer certified in Victoria, ask RMS if they recognise the certificate. If it hasn't been certified then I wouldn't bother buying it - if the 35s and lift aren't backed up with proper gearing, toughened axles, castor correction etc it's probably only gonna cause you grief- and even if an insurer will sell you a policy, they'll walk away whistling if you ever need to claim.
It's more than six inches of lift so you are unlikely to get NSW rego anyway now the new VSI is in.
I wasnt meaning to bypass engineering, just to transfer the rego THEN see what is required to get it passed .

You will also have to pay a tax (2% I think) on the purchase price. If you make it too low, they will tax you on a redbook estimate.
Your not looking at the Camo Disco are you?
Im really interested in the camo one aswell, but i was talking about the red one
