    Zf Auto compatibility

    Hey guys,
I have a spare auto from a 3.9 Discovery 1 that someone is interested in purchasing as a replacement for their Discovery 2 td5 transmission? He's been told it will work but I'm doubtful, is it possible and what would be involved?

The D2 TD5 ZF Auto is an electronically controlled gearbox which is hooked to a computer and has no kickdown cable.
The D1 3.9 is a hydraulically controlled box and the V8 box is different to the Diesel engine gearbox, i.e. shift points, Torque Conv., bell housing and others, Regards Frank.

Won't work, in addition to above, TC Pattern I believe is different, elec plug is different (as per elec controlled), output shafts may differ but can be swapped.
