hi,
biodiesel production takes me about a week.. I initiate the chemical reaction, then let it sit for about a week (only 'cos I don't live at the farm at present.. when I live there it will sit for 48 hrs)...
after the chemcial reaction has taken place, I then wash the mix to remove any "junk" (unreacted caustic, methanol).. this take 2 days, one long wash in vinegar/water and water each day)... then I filter it down to 2 microns and make sure there is no water in the brew.
then I have about 180l of fuel ready to go..
I have two drums set up, so that I can wash and brew at the same time, so that I can, in the near term, keep a continuous flow of fuel... for tractors, generators, etc.
regards,
BioDiesel Bob.
