    Tube winch bar advise.

I'm in the process of making a tube style winch bar for my D1. Winch cradle/chassis mount is basically made (6mm plate) bar a few gussets, just need to sort some material for the tube part.

Was thinking 65nb light pipe (3.2mm wall) and 40 or 50nb light (2.9mm wall) for the hoop. Tho I do have some 3" exhaust tube, would this be too light? I don't really want to make it any heavier than it needs to be.

I was also thinking about running some bars back from the inner chassis mount plates to pick up the mounts further back that the std steering arm guard/panhard mount bolts to, as well as 3 x 1/2" bolts on the front end. Would this be a good idea?

    Cheers
    Rick

IMO exhaust is too light. It will dent very easily and most likely cause more damage than it stops if you hit anything. 2.9 will be fine.
