    TACHOMETER FOR DEFENDER 300 TDI

    HI CAN ANYONE HELP WITH WHAT SORT OF ALTERNATOR AND TACHOMETER TO
    INSTALL ON A DEFENDER 300 TDI

    i use a vdo tach that connects to the W terminal on the alternator[standard alternator]

    Hi
    I can't help you with the alternator but the tacho to fit is a VDO unit. These units are available through places like Repco. Most people remove the clock and fit the tacho where the fuel gauge is, and move the fuel gauge to the outside.
    If you get the 52mm diameter tacho it is a straight swap for the clock.

    How about some perspex in the bonnet so you can count the revolutions.
