Mate - im not 100% sure - but I thoink it is, its replaced from the top of the firewall - just above the vents - where the hinges mount - i think you may have to change the hinges

Hi Adam
There are 2 ways to go.
You can get a Defender window top,but will need a front section of the Defender roof grafted onto the series roof as they are taller.
I have seen Series windscreens with the centre bar removed and a single piece of laminated glass used in the pommy landy mags.Im pretty sure that the comment there was the removal of the centre bar allows flexing of the frame which can end up cracking the glass.

I know a panel beater that did it. He said it was a lot of mucking around. He must have done it right as no windscreen cracking.

i had a s3 here with a single piece windscreen and it copped a hiding and never cracked a screen and it only had half a firewall holding it up

i think it depends a lot on the type and thickness of glass used.

windscreen replacement

Stick with the split screen then if you get a stone chip you only have to replace 1 side cheaper too, and if you are in the bush a standard one fits I would go for standard thickness (6mm I think) Laminated, with a Slight Tint it helps and does not detract from an original look, Cheers

Thanks for all opinions.
I have 2 reasons to consider this replacement:
-actual screen is scratched
-i am 196cm tall and I don't see traffic-lights

Again confused what to do, probably nothing

Hi Adam
I have the same problem, being a big dude having to look under the top of the windscreen!!!!!
Have you got non-original seating???This is the biggest problem as most non genuine seating lifts you up a couple of inches leaving your legs rubbing on the wheel.I dont know why people change landy seats, they are ok as long as they are in good condition and are easy to re-pad yourself with modern hi density foam.Of the 4 series I have owned the 2 with the original seating were the most comfortable by a longshot.
Is Your landy a station wagon??If it is you wouldnt have a fuel tank under your seat,if so you can cut the height down of the seatbox then get some nice non-genuine seating.

Hi Tall Mate ! (LandyAndy)
My original seats were completely worn and I replaced them with aftermarket. I have 2 batteries under seats, but yes-I hope to cut a few cm from those underseats boxes.
Steering wheel: hope to replace with smaller but I need PAS...long story.

Hi incisor,
Was your 1 piece screen held in place with windscreen rubber as per 110 & Defenders or"glued" & held with angles as per standard?
Pat.
