Transmax Z replaced by Transmax TEXVI at Supercheap

I was in Supercheap yesterday and noticed that where they had stocked Transmax Z in the past , they now stock Transmax TEX VI which is specifically designed for GM transmissions.

My assumption is that The Transmax TEX VI supersedes Z.
So this is perhaps good news for L322 owners.

I don't know whether the new brew is OK for ZF transmissions but I would think that it will be good.
It is a full synthetic and costs $80 or so for 4 litres.
I will email Castrol and ask, as I use Transmax Z and want to know whether I can change with the new one.

I noticed that too. After some research decided to go with Penrite ATF FS, its full synthetic and looks like what replaced their Syn from a while ago which I used to use. Penrite Oil - A Better Class Of Oil Says its OK for ZF's on the specs.

SCA don't stock it but they can order it in no problem, got 2 containers in next day. Costs $50 for 4 litres so a lot cheaper than Castrol which was a bit of a surprise.

I have emailed Castrol asking about ZF .

The Transmax Z PDF data sheet appears to have been removed from their site so I conclude that the new DEX VI replaces it.

I note they are all made in Malaysia these days. Not too far from the origins of the company in Burma.LOL

Any news from Castrol on this Philip ?

Licensed Dex VI fluids are backwards compatible in GM transmissions, but I haven't checked the latest ZF list to see if they are ZF certified too.

FWIW Dex VI fluids are a lighter viscosity than Dex IIIH type fluids (Transmax Z)

Transmax Z is still available at various retailers here.

The Product Datasheet is still available online at http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp...Transmax_Z.pdf

And it's still listed on the Castrol website: Castrol Australia - Automatic Transmission Fluid
