I think i'll set the back up a bit better then the front, because of the extra weight in the back, I think for the front it will be OK at the moment, as it doesn't look like the front is sagging yet...
Idealy I would look to set the back up with almost standard suspension, maybe LR shocks or the magnums, but put slighlty better springs with poly air bags, for towing and touring duties.

Shocks
Landrover shocks ARE Bilstiein shocks and are the best shocks for the job. Very rare to find other brands that can take the full extension of the suspension movement inherent in Range Rovers or Disco's without catastrophic damage. Don't believe all you hear from sellers of suspension equipment, as they are only there to make the most profit from you, anyway they can.

Well I replaced the shocks on Saturday, $80 each from my mechanic... I think there Boge shockers (not sure about the spelling) . Took two hours on the first one and one hour on the second unit. Just wondering what is the easiest way to undo and do up the nut on top of the shockers, in the end I used vice grips and a spanner, must be a easier way of doing it.
The Disco feels brand new, well at the front anyway. Next job is to put the long range fuel tank in and then put new suspension at the rear of the disco, will go for heavy duty springs at the rear or maybe airbags !!
New and old shockers...

These are the old shocker rubbers.

Matt,
Removing shocks should not be a difficult task.
You hold the shaft with a spanner, and undo the nut with another spanner.
I have found that shifters (nut f#ckers) are absolutely useless for holding the shaft. MUST use the correct open ended spanner.
If it's tight, use some spray lubricant.
