    300Tdi serpentine tensioner spanner

    Anyone know where to find a nice long 15mm ring/open ender to taking the tension off?

    the current version of the snap on spanner I use is

    XDHM1415

    it also perfecly fits the nuts on the prop shaft.

    Or just use your 15 R/O with your 17 R/O necked over the open end of the 15
    The angle change is perfect and the extra leverage makes life easy

    That's what I've been doing. Maybe I need to learn how to do it without the 17 slipping and nearly causing me a mischief

    Rick, I'm thinking that the OP means that his standard spanner isn't long enough to put enough weight (torque) to untension the belt.

    Ranga, you can always put an appropriate sized bit of pipe over your spanner to increase the torque that you apply.

    Those extra long ring spanners (like Blknite references above) can be quite handy (even better with a little bit of offset) .

    its not that he doesnt have the strength to pull the spanners around,
