    Hi All
    Since we're talking battery's
I'm going to use a solenoid but wire it up to my oil light, so the batterys would not join untill the motor is running.
Then also have a momentry on (Push button) for jump starting.
    Would this work????

Hi Hook, the problem will still be there. If one of the batteries goes bung while you are driving, and remember the batteries are usually not put under excess use until you go on a trip and thats when they tend to spit the dummy. When one goes and you using a solenoid, the other usually follows close behind because the solenoid will keep working at voltages as low as 8 volts and that will stuff any battery. If the batteries do fail while you are driving, with a solenoid, you will still not know anything is wrong until you stop the motor and then go to start the vehicle again.
There are so called smart solenoids but I know little about them and they don’t seem to do any more than our Smart Charges yet they are usually about twice the price.
