 would have to agree with you on that one hellspawn , there are plenty of cheap series two's about ,just gotta find 'em when cash is also about, plenty under a grand, which if you can do most of the work yourself or for the cost of a carton for your mates, works out cheeper in the long run , plus the satisfaction of saying "i did it!"bought mine for $200 and drove it home,$300 for rings and bearings and gaskets,$400 for another donor landy(may it rest in peace[s]) and hopefully rego next month,so it is possible to get a good vehicle fairly cheap by shopping around and most importantly doing your homework on what needs doing first 8)

Yep agree with all above.
However I am a totally newbie and have probaly the lemon of the year and am going to have to watch the forum like a hawk.
I bought a 93 110 Defender Wagon with 200TDI and only 77000Kms for 4K total. Thats the good part.
After buying found the dreaded rust at footwell and am looking at some way to fix it. I am in Darwin and there are no specialist here.
Engine is fine but there is a fairly loud clunk taking off. It needs new seats few interior trim pieces.
I am hoping to spend no more than about 2 to 3K and I will have a vehicle that will go anywhere and take me where I want to go.
So look around and you never now what you can find.
And with the benefit of this forum you will learn a lot.
Now must go as searching for new footwells as I think it will be quite painful to replace bulkhead.
See Ya on the Road.
