Dual battery type employing new Ark Corp. charger (freebie prompted upgrade)
Hi
I've just got a new Ark Corp ac/dc smartcharger (battery management & monitor/ analyser) prompting a dual battery system, raising what is the recommended second battery for auxiliary functions? & kit for setup? under the seat, & who in Melb. is recommended for a setup?
Best regards,
James

That the ArkPak? I'm using a Century N70T 100AH.
I would stuff in the highest capacity deep cycle you can fit I guess.

I've got the older Arc Powerpack in my dual battery setup. I use a Traxide SC80 to charge the battery while in the vehicle and a Ctek XSM 10 charger while the battery is out of the car (the Ark charger died after 6 uses and killed 2 of my batteries in the process). It's merely a battery box with Anderson plug sticking out now.

Thanks fellas.
Elshano, this is the charger http://arkcorp.com.au/p/3411/ac-dc-battery-charger , though they also have stored charge Arkpaks. I too am thinking bigger holds more, though as you say I'd prefer to get it all under the seat with the cranker, so any Defender specific kits would be my first port of call along with the right size battery.
Keith, as a novice, I'm thinking I'll benefit from finding out if there are any Defender specific cautions, as well as how to go about a dual battery set up. Ideally Ark would acknowledge if an issue was the result of their product. I may have to run my setup by them pre installation just to feel like all bases are covered.
Thanks again.
