Dynamic steel wheels in 16 x 7. Available through most tyre shops - they may have to order in Defender stud pattern ones so may take a few days. I had them on my previous Defender and could not fault them.
So yesterday I went down to my local tyre guy (who I've used professionally and privately for years) to have the tyres on the defender 110 rotated and a new one put on after I somehow managed a nasty cut in one of them.
He calls me halfway through the job and tells me that 3/5 of my disco steel rims are buckled!
I had another company fit the current tyres since he didn't stock them and apparently they forgot to tell me this (or didnt even notice?!)
As a result im up for new rims all round plus 2 spares.
So my question is what steel rims are out there that you use and reccomend?
I do a bit of touring and a bit of 4wding so would like something good and strong but without breaking the bank and I want to stay with the same size to fit my 235 85 r16 but maybe a better offset to allow for bigger tyres in the future.
By the way I did a search but didnt come up with more than occasional posts within unrelated topics.
Cheers!

It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
gone
1993 Defender 110 ute "Doris"
1994 Range Rover Vogue LSE "The Luxo-Barge"
1994 Defender 130 HCPU "Rolly"
1996 Discovery 1
current
1995 Defender 130 HCPU and Suzuki GSX1400
I'd be getting them re-rolled, not very expensive.
Buckled by damage or out of round?
There's two types of Disco 1 wheels. Early wheels had 4 welds securing the outer rim to the centre. These seemed fine in the 1991 - 1994 cars but somehow developed a vibration issue from 1995.
After Land Rover replaced several sets of wheels with alloys under warranty, an 8 weld wheel was made which solved the problem.

Thanks Vlad, yeah those dynamics seem to be the only brand out there. Not too bad on price either.
I had been looking at re painting the disco rims or getting new ones but now with this issue also I don't think it would be cost effective to have them re rolled AND painting them so I think my hand has been forced on that front.
Scouse, im not 100% but theres no obvious damage to them. They had developed a slight vibration but I just put that down to tyre wear and a bad balance. I'll be interested to sus that one out.

It's a bugger we are so far apart,I have two sets of steel deefer rims in NSW you could have had. Pat
You can also get King rims, don't really recommend them though, lighter as an 8" than the 6.5" LR HD rims, also due to the shape of the rim on the bead they pushed mud into the bead causing a slow leak first time out. Went back to the original HD 130 rims ( which the tyrefitter complained about as buckled) a couple years ago.
geez there are a lot of defer owners running disco rims……….i cannot recall and threads on hear about buckled rims
maybe you just got unlucky……i would stick with the disco rims
X2 for the Dynamic wheels.
I paid $115 inc fitting my tyres last year.
So far have been very pleased with them on the 130.
Cheers

Thanks for the offer all the same Pat. Going to chase some prices on the dynamics this week. Im pretty keen on the round pattern sunnys but cant really understand the extra cost they seem to have!
