    Vacuum Unit

A Lucas distributor vacuum unit for a S1 54/55 for example has got an advance code of 7-18-12. For a S2/3 61-77 it's 4-18-12.These numbers are usually stamped on the unit. What determines these values? Is it the tightness/looseness of the diaphragm ,the size of the hole where the vacuum pipe is connected,a combination of these things or something else? .W.
