Erractic Idle Solved

anyone with a problem with idle on discos 1995/96 i think i have found it, it's taken 12 month and a bit of money to solve but i have a disco that idles without stalling now, its not a airflow metre, fuel pump, blocked hoses, plunum chamber nothing like that at all, it a little device near the radiator behind the coil it called a ignition module its about $180
if you buy it with the mounting it will set you back $700 WHAT A JOKE
so try it and see i am pretty sure this is it,
cheers Bender

I have had idle problems since I have had my disco, but I think I might of put mine down to crappy wiring to the AFM... the amplifier did cause me some problems early on, where by I couldn't start the car, but fixed it by cleaning the back of the amplifer and putting heat sink stuff on it... in the end the mud didn't help.

Let me know how it goes because I have found that the problem's start coming back after a couple of weeks for some reason, just when you think you have solved the problem

Hmmmm got me thinking. Mine idles badly on startup almost like its running on three cylinders. I always put this down to a need for a service and a cold start. Is this the sort of thing your experiencing.
cheers

make sure you use non- resisted plugs!
i put the bp5es plugs back in mine a new rotor button and
dizzy cap, and moved the ign module, and its been fine
now for 2 months. i did this on the advice of a honda tech bloke
who said that if there was too much resistance in the system that
it would make the ign module over heat.
well its workin for me!
cheers phil.
