First, the average Yeo can not legally degas an air conditioner, it is deemed harmful to the Ozone.
You also need a license to work on them, recover the gas into a suitable receptacle for disposal or on use.
Why do you want to degas it?
If it is not working a regas and new filter/receiver drier could cost around $150.00

Need it degassed as we need to remove the evaporator unit.

Oh Pateyw, why didn't I think of that?

You will still need to go to your local A/con place to have the system re charged, I'm sure they would be prepared to degas, allow you to do your stuff then they replace the receiver drier and regas.

Release the gas into the atmosphere and if you get caught. The fines are extremely high. Approx $50k highly illegal don't do it !!!!

youd be amazed at how often I get this at work..

and as Im staring at it I can see the spray marks of the system oil all over the area they're talking about.

OR my favorite when they out rank me or think they can intimidate/have something over me.

its amazing how few automotive AC systems can stand up to a 6000PSI nitrogen purge


"yeah sorry mate looks like your (this bit with bloody great hole in it now) is actually buggered, It failed when I did the nitrogen blow through prior to vac down. I dont have time to sort that out but heres the number of a good Auto AC place, just tell em I sent you and they'll give you a deal.

Steve, would be great if you can get some pics of the compressor and associated pulleys and mounts. Or 1 better, send them my way
