    County V8 Power steering reservoir

Any county V8 owners replaced the original metal p/steering reservoir with one from a Disco. I believe that the swap is possible. If correct, will any Disco V8 be suitable.
I am sick of cleaning the spilt fluid from the engine bay that leaks from the antiquated lid.

    G'day Maggsie,

I too have suffered with the constant leak from the PS res on my County. I found it can be stopped - I use teflon tape (the plumbers white stuff) on the thread. Although its not designed to seal up oil, PS fluid doesnt seem to break it down like other petroleum products will - dunno why.

Anyway, the net result has been zero leaks and a total outlay of about 1/2 a roll of teflon tape (less than a bucks worth) in the last 4 years. Heaps cheaper than the alternative!

Just make sure the thread is ultra clean (I use metho) before you put the tape on, otherwise you'll be cursing me and my crazy ideas as the tape wont stick!

    That's a great tip Kels.

I'll let cousin John and his mate Chris know as each of their Counties suffer from slow hemorrhage in this department.
