I have a re-mapped ECU for my Defender TD5 from Bruce Davis Performance Landy in Sydney. Has increased power to ~130kw and torque has increased to ~400Nm. Cost me $850 and has completely changed the drivability of the vehicle.

I would give them a call on 02 9679 1978 and see whether they have anyone in Victoria.

Alternatively, it may be worth the drive up to Sydney to have it done. Given the price ARB are wanting to charge, it would be cheaper. The whole remapping and test drive takes about an hour.

They also do a larger intercooler which takes power to ~160kw and torque to ~460Nm, however this costs about $2,000. I personally have some doubts about the ability of the drivetrain, especially the R380 to deal with such torque.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

Might be cheaper to trade the TD5 in for a new Disco3 !with the new TDv6!

    TDV6, Specs
    440nm
    140kw

But who can afford one :?:

Speaking of which, has anyone from this forum ordered one :?:

Have look at the latest 4x4 Monthly mag #73. It has an article on the power upgrades for the Td5. The writer claims he was dusting off the hoons at lights. Gave huge increases in power and torque, with no change in the fuel economy.

I'd suggest you check with Land Rover Australia if a re-mapping or upgrade of the ECU will void your warranty. I suspect it will ...
