    Perentie Isuzu fusible link?

Went to start her up tonight. Had the interior light on, turned starter. She gave half a crank then died. No electrics. All lights out. Very sudden.

Assume I've blown a fusible link, assuming there is one somewhere? Still have voltage at the battery.

No blown (spade) fuses that I can find.

Any advice on where to look next appreciated.

No idea about a fusible link, but check if you have voltage between the +ve battery terminal and the chassis.
If not, then you've got an earth issue between battery and chassis - either loose/broken/corroded. Try running a jumper lead from -ve terminal to chassis and see if everything starts working.

No worries - always good when its an easy fix

And thanks for reporting back with what the problem was too.

I don't know why, but a lot of people, (including me), always jump to the worse possibility when something happens. I still have to stop myself from doing this, even after all these years. (I suspect that with a big workshop, plenty of money, and the time to tackle anything this tendency is reduced!)

Anyway, for future reference, with any other electrical trouble you may have always check all the earths you can find. In fact, you should start pulling them off and cleaning them up when you get the chance. Time and time again, they cause all sorts of trouble.

Yep, I learned about this one in Port Wakefield, half way to Moonta in my old Pulsar. Exactly the same scenario with electrics before but not after.

I understand that corrosion builds up between the terminals and the connector, reducing the surface area making contact. Eventually, you go to start it with the headlights and AC switched on and it melts the last little bit of lead making a good circuit.
