Go the Turners route excellent service, the AMC head will cure all the 10P head weaknesses. If you get the fitting kit as well, possible to be back on the road within the week of ordering.
Well I think the inevitable has happened. My TD5 are showing serious symptoms of the dreaded "Porous Head Issues" after only 250K.
As I see it there are only 3 options:
1. Replace the engine with a second hand unit, which might have the same problem in the future.
2. Replace the head with a reconditioned/second hand one with the same risks as option 1.
3. Replace it with a new head from Turners Engineering where all the weaknesses have been addressed.
Anybody with any experience with the heads from Turners?
If there are any other options that I have missed please let me know and if there are any pitfalls in changing the head I'm all ears.
Thanks, Jurgens

The AMC heads are much thicker in the subject area thus solving this issue.
The heads from Turners are not manufactured by Turners but are sourced from overseas, guess where, Regards Frank.
Knew they were from Spain.
Symptoms are diesel mixed with oil in the sump, she's still starting, idling and running with no problems at all. I'll be changing the O rings and copper washers for the injectors tomorrow. With new oil I'll be monitoring the level closely. If it rises again then there is only one thing it could be, the head itself, cracked or porous.
Be careful if you continue to run it with diluted diesel you will do the turbo
I've seen what diluted oil can do to a mate's disco. As I've said, I'll put new oil in and monitor it closely. If the level even rises by 1-2mm on the dipstick then I know it's game over for the head.
Those that question where the Turners heads are made, are there any issues that make you question their quality?
