Sounds good on paper, doesn't it.

Now compare to a 4BD1 with peak torque of 263Nm at 1900rpm.
    The Jeep has heaps more!

So...my Isuzu County with factory standard LT95 and 3.54 diffs, has a 'mere' 47.8:1 overall ratio. Bit short of 73.1:1 eh!

    Must be crap off road.

    Or is it...
    Simply put,
At peak torque engine rpm of 1900, the Landy has a wheel rotation rate of ~39rpm
At peak torque engine rpm of 4300, the Jeep has a wheel rotation rate of ~58rpm.
That Jeep is moving one and a half times the speed as the Landy is when both at peak torque.
So tell me, which is a slower crawler?

And that doesn't account for the shape of the torque curve either
