Don't know about gas but on petrol you want the manifold as cold as possible on any engine. Red motor don't need a heated manifold.
To the Holden6 Brains trusts out there.
Is the manifold heating required on the red motor?? Mine isnt connected, but now would be a goodtime to rectify it if needed as I have just fitted a new head gasket and will be finishing the job tommorow.I realize its there to provide better atomizing of the petrol especially when cold.
Mine is on LPG,and I genarally use no petrol.Do I re-fit it or leave as-is.

tell me if im wrong, but i think Andy is refering to the silver foil tube that goes from the exhaust manifold to the end of the air cleaner? - its used for taking the heat from the manifold to the air intake..... and as for the benefits ?

I think he is talking about the water heating around the base of the carby.
Wouldn't bother refitting.
Hi Guys
I was talking about the water heating, decided to leave it as I found it,why fix what aint broke.
