Thread: Air Compressor

I bought a Dr Air for about $200 online (ironically, from a company here in Perth about 20 minutes drive from me. They delivered the next day.)

Very good unit, used it many times on our recent trip to the Kimberley, it's been faultless, pumps up a tyre from flat in about 2.5 minutes.

Second Dr Air or in my case ALDI for $99 which looks exactly the same as Dr Air and performs the same AFAIK.
If you can wait until ALDI have them again which is who knows. ALDI is one year warranty but Dr Air I think 3 year.
However they are a BIG and heavy lump of a thing.

Would it even be legal, the horns?

I paid the big bucks for the arb one. Have had it a few years now.

I just had the pleasure of discovering that they aren't quite as waterproof as they say.
Mine is mounted in the battery box (defender) and managed to take on some water while I was up cape york.

Luckily I've fixed it, one of the springs for the brushes had rusted through...

I suspect the water got in through the rubber gromit, which had perishd, around the power cables into the motor it's self.

I got knocked back on a pink slip for having dual Stebel 120dB electropneumatic horns on a previous car.
Can't talk for PNG though. I didn't know they had laws there?

Ah I meant Oz, I thought they were ok if single tone, I.e. No tune. But I am sure there is a reason why they will say no.
