I have had an Engine Saver Combo - Low Water Alarm Sensor
Is a low water alarm and temp display/alarm. However while I suppose the temp display/alarm could be rigged up to measure water temp it is designed to be bolted to the engine block/head to measure actual engine temp directly not water temp.
To measure water temp I use the standard water coolant gauge. I find the block temp a better indication of what is going on in the engine. And of course I also have the low coolant alarm to tell me if I am loosing coolant.
I have had mine fitted for about 4 years ago and it has worked great.
