But why is it melted.???
hi all was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to rewire the oil light independently of the loom.
as the wire has melted the plastic about 30cm from the switch also think I have some earth problems that I need to chase up. as the temp gauge goes up a bit when I put the head lights on.
but the oil light, I would like to rewire any input appreciated cheers.

don't know, had a problem with the oil light giving a flicker and not going out for about 3or4 seconds on cold start, put a new switch in that's when I noticed the wire ,light now goes out in about 1or 2 seconds.
being in cairns the defender has done a lot of hard work but well maintained
got over 350,000ks original motor gearbox and transfer as I said think I have a few earth problems maybe I need to strip back the harness and check not sure
Logan is doing just fine, just the usually riff raff causing a stir every now and then.
Is the rest of the wiring harness damaged at all from heat ?

not that I can see, is starting to unravel in places though. had a kill switch put in awhile back, with solenoid up behind the dash after some lowlife stole my keys.
Easiest is to just join it and tape the harness back up
