    Unhappy Outside temp and heater issues

    So, a little while back I had a bullbar installed to my D4 from Opposite Lock.
    As it's the wife weekly drive car, it took me a while to find out that the outside temperature now reads incorrectly.
    on top of that, the internal temperature is all over the place.
    Does anyone how to correct the out temp ?
    And, is the inside temp settings relative to the outside temp reading?

    the problem seems to come from the outside air temp sensor's input, as it's behind the front grill make sure you didnt disturb it's wiring when you worked with the bullbar and if you dont see anything wrong maybe it would be good to replace the sensor cos imo you can't rule it out other way... that sensor's input is used by the ECU in conjunction with the in car temp sensor to manage the system so it's the first suspect and as long as you are not certain it's good the diagnose is hard... it's not expensive, google out JTF100160

    you can run a diagnostic sequence just to make sure but unfortunately it covers only clear open/short circuit situations while the sensor can fail other way too and supply erratic signal

    Success. Thanks for your advice.
    As it turns out, I had an intercooler installed for the auto transmission just before having the bullbar fitted.
    The intercooler was installed infront of the radiator, and though it took a bit of looking, I found the outside temp sensor between the radiator and the intercooler, hence the stupid readings.
    Simple enough to relocate the sensor to infront of the intercooler, now tucked in behind the bullbar.
    My wife's a happy camper again with the air con working properly and all.

    Lucky Mr Fery, as you provided all the data for a D2 and the original post was for a D4 - completely different...

    ...i'm so stuck in the D2 thing that i didnt observe that... yes' the diagnostic procedure is different but luckily the sensor is in the same area and it works on the same principle ... The road to hell is paved with good intentions
