it is a pome car.
its a landrover
I meant for towing pommy trailers,,,,
[/b][/quote]
are pome trailers different?
like are they left hand drive or something?
there is a plug there with a rubber cap sealing it.
when you fit a towbar a genuine landrover harness is available which plugs straight in and has the correct colour coded wiring for australian standard trailer plugs. much better than scotch locks or splicing onto tail light wiring.
only thing is not many people know about this plug- especially after market accessory fitters.

hi landrovermick, First thing, which ever way you choose to connect up the wires, when you put your foot on the brake peddle, the fog light indicator on the dash will light up.
You will need a diode and probably the best place to get one is to go to an auto electrician and get an alternator diode.
This type of diode is heaps big enough to handle the current in the lights.
Once you have the diode, go to the rear of the disco and take the rear light housing out and you will see the wires coming out of each light globe connector. Find the stop light wire and the fog light wire and strip enough off each wire to be able to twist one of the diode leads around each wire.
Now get the diode. On the diode is a small epoxy ball on a piece of tinned copper wire, the leads. One side of the epoxy ball is marked with a painted strip. The diode in this case is being used to act like a one way valve and the painted strip indicates which way the voltage will flow.
Connect the diode lead coming from the side of the diode that is painted, to the fog light wire and the other side of the diode to the stop light wire.
Test and see if it works. Cheers
