Is that is that engine/gearbox/transfer case? If dad bought all that gear, the diffs still need seeing to right? Matt

    Yep thats all up.

Think the diffs would fit, but don't know if strong enough or correct ratios.

Would the disco diffs go into a series vehicle? What would need to be done? Matt

RR diff centres (older 10 spline) will fit on Series (Rover type) axels.

The RR diffs have a higher ratio (lower number) than the Series ones - gives better cruising speeds.

Yes but problems for the front.

Rears would require aftermarket axles - Jac Mac / Maxi

Fronts would require 24splin diff end axle and some kind of stubb

If you were going to the trouble to fit all the driveline, it would be easier to just coil the series, or cut the brackets off the axles and weld on the series plate for leaf spring s on the disco axles.

This would give you about 2 - 3 inches in width, and disc brakes all round.

    Never ending problems....

I'm guessing the rover diff in the front will swap over, but the salisbury in the back. Unless you've got fine spline disco centres, when nothing will swap over.

This thing will go faster with a tdi. And cruise at better speeds with a 5 spped. I doubt you'll get it engineered without better brakes.. you'll be converting discs next..

Ask the engineer you'll use for a certificate what he'll want before spending any money.

    Regards
