I'm not sure if it's the same box, but I had an 87 Isuzu County with a 5 sp box. Greatest heap of crap I've ever come across. It first packed it in at about 30K. The outer race of the main input bearing split circumferentially.
It was rebuilt and packed it in again at about 80K. I seem to recall there were problems with inadequate oil being pumped to the bearings.
It was on they way out again at about 145K when I off loaded the heapa.
Other that the gearbox it was a great unit.
