If it can do double flares (important) it should be OK but do test runs first - the cheapies can be a bit hit and miss.
Hi all
is the Supercheap SCA brake tube flaring kit good enough? ... I am installing new brake lines etc on my S3 ... I am buying the brake pipes from Four Wheel Drives.
Thanks
Craig

Can we have a link to the product to see it.
In another life I have worked as a brake specialist and brake pipe flares had to be a double flare.

They work well if the pipe is fairly soft. I broke mine flaring oem pipe on a Nissan patrol. Most after market DIY type bundy tube is nice and soft so should to what's asked of it. If I get a chance later ile post some pics of how your flare should look both single and double .
Mine kit worked OK on the pipe you sell![]()

Here's some hot tips complete with crappy pics.
Firstly make sure the pipe is nice and square like this its the most common mistake
This is the single or ball flare simlar to the din flare found on later model land rovers.
This is the double or inverted flare found on early rovers note some manufactures will use a combination of the two throu out the system so beware.

It's not bad, the only major drawback being that it doesn't come with a pipe cutter. It's worked ok for the trailer and Landy work I've done with it. I would have preferred the better quality vice-mounted unit but my budget was never going to let me.
Dan.
